Last Sunday I finaly got a chance to have an outing in rainwear and manure. I have had this planned for some time, but the recent frosty weather a blocked the outing. But now thaw had set in and a week of rain had passed.

Sunday afternoon I set off in the car towards a local forest, wearing a pair of green Viking chest waders. Ariving at the forest I parked the car and now it was time to get properly dressed for what lay ahead. On top of the waders went a yellow Ocean smock with neoprene cuffs, after that a pair of yellow Helly-Hansen Nusfjord rain bibs. To keep the hands warm a pair of neoprene gloves as well as a woolen hat.

Now had a 15 minute walk to the site of the manure pile laying on a field next to the forest, on the way a runne ran onto the path in front of me, but only he's puddle dog seemed interested in my presence, must have been the fantastic rainwear it was attracted to !

Arrived at the manure pile, I began stomping through the maure and the weather had indeed done it's work. The manure was now very soft, and after a few steps I had already sunk in up to my knees. After spending some time stomping around and getting the legs of the bibs pretty dirty it was time to take it to the next level. I found the deepest spot and droppen on my knees and the onto my stomach.

I managed to satisfy my self, what a way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Starting my walk back to the car, it again started to rain hard. Perfect for washing my manure splattered rainwear, half way to the car I stopped by a small pond. Here I got to sink the chest waders deep into the water, and wash off the remainder of dirt and manure.
