Hi all

Saturday I wanted to shoot another mudding video, as my small phone tripod had arrived and I naturally were eager to try it out under mudding conditions.

The temperature gauge was again in positive area, so I was expecting good conditions for soft mud. The location I wanted to go to was a rather large mud hole in a small forest not far from home. I have not been at this place for years gas it does not have very good wash off possibilities with no natural stream. So I did not really know what to expect.

For this outing I chose to wear my Ocean D865 yellow mud suit, with attached boots and gloves and waterproof to the chest. As always to protect the suit I packed a pair of yellow HH Nusfjord rain bibs in a bag with a pair of rubber gloves.

Just before leaving from home it started raining hard, so I hoped that the weather would "improve", as the plan was to shoot some video. Arriving at the mud spot all was as I remembered it, and shortly after arriving there the rain changed into heavy snow. Thus any possibility for shooting video was no longer realistic.

But have traveled so far and geared up I for sure had to enjoy the moment. The mud hole was cover with up to 2 cm which ice, but luckily were there soft and not too wet mud below. Several places I sank in up to my knees after wriggling my feet a bit deeper in the sticky clay mud.

So as there were no reason to stay too clean to operate the camera a instead decided to have some proper mud fun. Spend some time braking the ice in the entire mud hole, trying to find the deepest places. Then after opening up the mud hole I had some good mud shimming getting covered all the way to my chest and the top of the rain bibs.

I must say it was pretty amazing laying there feeling nice and warm and totally messy on the outside if the rain gear. And seeing how the gear got white by the hard snowfall.

So I managed to use and see two things I have not used in a very long time.

Today Sunday the weather was sunny an again above zero degrees, and I was in the mood for a long walk. So I wore the snow cleaning gear used before new year, thick woollen turtleneck sweater, Bullseye waders, bib snow pants and a thick snow jacket. After getting into the forest I remembered someone mentioning that those waders was better worn outside the snow pants.

And after leaving from home in realised that I forgot to bring the tripod with me, so even if I found a mudspot which I doubted, I would not be able to shoot anything
