Let's go to a fetish party
Let's go to a fetish party

A fetish party is a place where people enjoy dressing up in fetish attires, meet to celebrate their fetishes and to hang out with likeminded people. It's best described like being at a regular disco where people are drinking and dancing, but people are wearing various fetish wear or nothing at all!

If you are in the process of "coming out" a visit to a fetish party can be a major milestone. Meeting other likeminded people of both sexes, very often leads to new opinions and friendships being formed.

For me personally, going to a fetish party really made a huge difference! I got in touch with the local community, felt completely accepted and ultimately made a lot of new friends! Sure I was nervous the first time. But I got over it pretty quick, when I been at the party for half an hour. People were very understanding and made me feel at home. Today I would not be without fetish parties; they are like a family away from home.

For an outsider the idea of going to a fetish party for the first time often brings up a lot of thoughts and questions. Many are tempted and puzzled by the idea of going and really want to go, but still they don’t do it for various reasons. I believe it all comes down to one thing; information! If people know what they can expect; they are not frightened or intimidated by the idea, and can decide if it's something they would like to do or not. When that's done, it's just a matter of having enough guts or curiosity to go!

So how do you go about it? Well first you need to find a party. There are arranged fetish parties in most of the major cities in Europe and North America. If there is a fetish store in the city, you can find flyers there or ask the shop keepers for information. It's most likely that if your city you are in have one or more good fetish shops, there also enough visitors for such events. You might want to look for a small or local party to begin with; going to the huge parties (like the rubber ball in London) is quite an experience and might be a little intimidating to start with.

When you find an upcoming fetish party there looks like it's something for you, try to dig up some more information about the event. Maybe there is a club behind the party, maybe there is a website. If that's the case check it out. They might have a gallery of photos from prior events so you can see how people dress. Maybe there is a message board or some links you can check out. Talk to people behind the party. You can do it by email or phone and ask about more details or ask any question you might have.

Most parties have a very strict dress code and some times there are even some dress themes for the party. So make sure that your outfit fit the dress code. People must follow the dress code or they will be rejected at the door!

At my first party, I was wearing black pvc jeans, a latex t-shirt and a pair of latex gloves. Something I already had in my wardrobe, but you might have to buy a few things at a fetish store before you are ready. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable with what you wear. Never mind what others thinks, it's your party! You might be happy to know that, most parties have a dressing room where you can change into your fetish attire.

When you arrive at the party, ask the staff for a guided tour around the venue. They can show you around, answer any questions you might have and might introduce you to some friendly people. Another option is to go with somebody there have been to a fetish party before.

Remember that you can always leave! But do try to stay for at least 30 minutes, so you know if it's something for you or not.

To describe a fetish party for someone is like describing what strawberries taste like to one there never tasted strawberries before. I can tell you what it's like, but you really have to do it yourself to know if you like it or not.

That's it! Be proud of your fetish and get going!

Thanks for this post! I would love to go a rainwear party. My wife doesn't share my fetish but she knows about it. Still it seems a little strange to me if I'd go to such an event without her (no, she won't join). Can I tell her that I want to attend such an event? Going secretly feels cowardly to me. Any opinions / experience?
